This trinket box takes a familiar, almost traditional form and reworks it through a contemporary lens. While its purpose feels recognisable, the design language clearly does not — shaped by the bold instincts of Teun Zwets and the experimental spirit of HKLIVING. The result is an object that holds more than small belongings; it holds a sense of contrast, where heritage and modernity meet in a quietly provocative way.
Teun Zwets doesn’t design politely — and that’s exactly why we wanted to work with him. His approach is unfiltered: loud colours, unapologetic gloss, rough materials that look like they’ve been dragged straight out of the workshop. There’s no ego in the work, but there is attitude. Together we pushed furniture into a new territory, one where a chair or accessory doesn’t just blend in — it leads. These pieces behave more like characters than static objects.
