Sculpting modern gemstones
Working with glass artist Nienke Sikkema felt less like a collaboration and more like stepping into another universe. Her world is one of molten timing, controlled chaos, and shapes that behave like carved light. Together we created a family of glass objects that feel like contemporary gemstones — heavy, luminous, and a little unruly.
These aren’t fragile ornaments. They’re bold pieces that hold their own in a space. Objects that could sit on a pedestal, sure, but that truly come alive in the everyday: on a shelf, next to a lamp, catching whatever light happens to hit it. Each one feels slightly different — a fingerprint, not a formula. The goal wasn’t perfection. It was presence.
